Visual pattern matching: Click Image, Image Exists, accuracy thresholds, and screen resolution sensitivity.
Traditional / Ad-Hoc Approach
Manual human clicks, brittle unmanaged scripts, zero centralized control, and missing fault tolerance.
Enterprise UiPath Standard
Production-grade execution, dynamic Unified Target selectors, automated retry recovery, and centralized governance.
Image activities interact with UI elements purely based on visual graphic matching—taking a reference PNG screenshot of an icon or button and searching for it on screen. Key Sub-topics Breakdown: • Subtopic 1: Visual Pattern Matching: Click Image, Hover Image, and Find Image using template images • Subtopic 2: Accuracy Threshold: Tuning the Image Accuracy slider (0.8 default to 0.99 strict matching) • Subtopic 3: Screen Resolution Sensitivity: DPI scaling, multi-monitor considerations, and image clipping regions In enterprise automation environments, Image Activities guarantees reliable execution within the UiPath ecosystem. Essential when automating remote virtual desktops (Citrix, VMware, RDP) where neither selectors nor accessibility DOM trees exist.
The activity takes a screen capture of the active window and performs a 2D convolutional template match against the reference image asset.
Zero unmanaged credentials, explicit timeout ceilings, and structured audit logging.

└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘At a global enterprise handling over 75,000 monthly transactions, operational teams implemented Image Activities to resolve critical production bottlenecks:
Manual intervention caused processing delays and human error in mission-critical transactions.
Deployed Image Activities with automated retry rules, dynamic error recovery, and end-to-end audit logging.
Eliminated 98% of manual touchpoints, achieved sub-second execution latency, and maintained 99.9% uptime.
