01The 5-Stage Enterprise Delivery Journey
In a professional enterprise setting, building an automation follows five structured stages:
1. Discovery: The team reviews the manual business process, verifies that it is rule-based and high-volume, and documents every step in a Process Definition Document (PDD). 2. Solution Design: A technical architect designs how the robot will be built and documents the technical approach in a Solution Design Document (SDD). 3. Development and Testing: Developers build the workflows in UiPath Studio and test them against sample data to ensure they handle both regular steps and edge cases. 4. User Acceptance Testing (UAT): The business team that currently performs the manual work tests the robot's output to verify that it meets business requirements. 5. Deployment and Hypercare: The project is published to Orchestrator to run in production, and the technical team monitors the robot closely during its first two weeks of live operation.
PDD vs SDD
PDD describes 'WHAT' the business does; SDD defines 'HOW' the robot technically builds it.
Modular Development
Splitting workflows into discrete XAML files for easy testing and debugging.
Hypercare Protection
Dedicated daily developer monitoring immediately after launch to resolve initial edge cases.
